I was instrumental in creating this unique program. It is a collaboration between Simmons College and Teachers 21 offering a graduate licensure program for teachers on school sites.

Embedded Work

I work with elementary, middle and high school teachers to improve the scope and sequence of their instructional plans, to create opportunities for learners at different readiness levels to be supported and challenged, and to improve teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge, teaching strategies and manner of delivery. I model lessons, co-teach classes, and facilitate discussions among teachers on important mathematical and curricular issues.

In collaboration with Professors Carole Greenes, Boston University, Herbert Ginsburg, Teachers College, Columbia University, and Robert Balfanz, Johns Hopkins University, I worked on the development of Big Math for Little Kids, an NSF funded program for developing young children’s mathematical reasoning abilities.

Co-authored Kindergarten through Grade 1 mathematics curriculum materials based on the British television learning program The Number Crew.
